Accused of domestic violence?

Charges of domestic violence often arise in connection with divorce.  Oftentimes, spousal abuse is the reason a victim is seeking a divorce.  However, there are times when one spouse makes false allegations of domestic violence against the other party in order to gain the upper hand in a child custody dispute.

Domestic violence charges are a serious crime.  The alleged abuser may be removed from the family home with a temporary restraining order – preventing him or her from having any contact with the alleged victim.  If the restraining order is violated, that person can be jailed.

If you have been charged with domestic violence and have received a restraining order forbidding you from seeing your spouse and children, contact an experienced Riverside Family Law attorney to discuss your options.
