A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputy was taken into custody after an alleged domestic dispute in Beaumont.  The definition of a domestic dispute is, “Any abusive, violent, coercive, forceful, or threatening act or word inflicted by one member of a family or household on another can constitute domestic violence.”

According to reports, the man barricaded himself in his family’s home for several hours early the other morning and later surrendered to police.  No injuries were reported and it is unclear if he had any weapons on him.  Officers are checking to determine what caused this Sheriff’s deputy to take these actions.

Domestic violence disputes are common, especially if the couple is facing a bad divorce.  It is not known at this time if this man fits into this situation.  If you are arrested for a domestic dispute, contact an experienced Riverside Family Law attorney who will explain your rights and the consequences you face if convicted of this crime.
