The definition of fear on the web reads, “To be afraid or feel anxious or apprehensive about a possible situation or event”.  In this case, it pertains to divorce.

It wasn’t too long ago when everything was wonderful; you had so many great plans for you and your husband for the rest of your lives.  Now, you are facing uncertainty and by yourself.

Yes, this situation can be overwhelming, but it won’t help you to stay under the covers; you need to get out and on with your life – face your fears – live your life to the fullest.  Divorce can really play havoc on your life; it turns your life upside down and emotions run high.  Fear can rob you of your self-esteem, but don’t let it – look for the positives – move forward with life.

It is natural to fear the unknown, the future.  So many questions arise – no answers.  No one knows what the future will bring, but we can set a vision of what we want and take steps to get it.  According to Marie Curie, “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood.  Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less”.

When you overcome a fear, you get the energy to take another step – even if it is a baby step. The future is filled with new promises, possibilities and happiness.  Only you can rid yourself of your fears and move on with your life.
