Review and update your estate plan

Follow Us

When I ask my clients if they have an existing estate plan, if they are in their 30s or 40s, they usually say, “no.”  Older clients sometimes show me a document that was created 30 or 40 years ago – when their children were infants.

If you have an estate plan that has not been updated in many years, it is important to review those documents with your experienced Riverside Family Law attorney.  The following are reasons why:

·     To make sure your children are protected – especially if you have minor children that will need

a guardian

·     To make sure laws have not changed since it was written

·     To address changes in your family or financial situation

·     Look ahead – plan for long-term care

·     Review how beneficiaries are designated

Reviewing your estate plan periodically with your Riverside Family Law attorney will ensure that when those documents need to be used, your wishes will be carried out and the process will go as smoothly as possible.
