Supervised visits

Why do I need supervised child visits?  I hear this too often.  Supervised child visitation is when a third party, one ordered by the court, is present when the visiting parent is with his or her child.

It takes places only in special situations, which include a need to protect the child.  This stems from child abuse or neglect issues, substance abuse, family violence or any other serious family problem that arises.  It also takes place if the parent has not visited with the child often and is getting to know him or her.

If you have been told you need to have supervised child visits and do not know why, contact an experienced Riverside Family Law attorney who can provide the answers for you.
