Why mediation?

Follow Us

Divorce mediation is when the couple seeks the help of a third, neutral party.  The purpose is to come up with solutions that can be mutually agreed upon to the family issues that must be resolved.

Each party must be represented by his or her own attorney.  If the mediation is successful, a legally binding settlement agreement is created; it brings all disputes to an end.  If an agreement cannot be reached, the couple can, therefore, proceed with any other method of resolving their issues, such as a court room.

There are many benefits to mediation, such as:

·         Usually faster than in a court room

·         The couple determines their own compromise

·         Open communication and cooperation between the parties

·         Avoid legal battles
